Government reportedly has decided to offload 5% stake in Power Grid Corporation of India through Follow-on Public Offer (FPO). However, a proposal to divest 20% stake in Power Grid is being contemplated, out of which 5% will be government offering and the rest stake will be shareholders’ stake in the company.

Further, apart from Power Grid, the government also is planning to divest 10% stake in Coal India, the issue of which will be taken up by the cabinet over the next few weeks.
