10 Jun 2025 Evaluate

Crude oil futures closed higher on Monday, supported by US-China trade talks at the senior official level and with the nearing travel season boosting energy demand. The much-anticipated trade talks between US and China kicked off in London on June 10, 2025 to put an end to the tariff war which has already rattled the global economy. Crude prices also found support from last Friday when a Baker Hughes report showed that the active US oil rigs for the week ending June 6 fell to a three-and-a-half year low.

Benchmark crude oil futures for June increased $0.71 or about 1.10% at $65.29 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for August delivery gained $0.57 or 0.86% to settle at $67.04 a barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.
