Hindustan Copper is planning to invest around Rs 2,000 crore over the next five to six years to expand its mining operations, primarily at its flagship Malanjkhand Copper Project (MCP) in Madhya Pradesh.
The investment is part of the company's broader plan to triple its ore production capacity from the current 4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 12.2 MTPA by FY2030-31.
Hindustan Copper’s principal activities include mining of copper ore, concentration of copper ore into copper concentrate through a beneficiation process and also smelting, refining and extruding of the copper concentrate into refined copper in downstream saleable products.
