Gujarat-based Astral Poly Technik has established a plant in Tamil Nadu in order to tap the south Indian plumbing and drainage market. At present, only 7 to 8 major brands have presence in South India, while rest of the 50% of the market is held by small timer manufacturers. The company has taken this decision of setting up plant in order to reduce transportation otherwise it needs to bare huge cost for transporting the huge volume of product from Gujarat facility.
