Adani Power synchronises second 660-MW unit at Mundra

Adani Enterprise’s subsidiary-- Adani Power --has successfully synchronized the second supercritical unit of 660-MW at its state of art  power plant in Mundra, in Kutch district of Gujarat, taking the total generation capacity to 2,640 MW. Thus, with this Adani Power becomes the largest thermal power producer in the country in the private sector. Adani Power in total has planned to commission 6,000 MW in this financial year, out of which 4,620 MW will be in Mundra and 1,320 MW shall be at Tiroda in Maharashtra.

The power plants whose present total generation capacity stands at 2,640 MW consists of six units, of which four units are of 430 MW and two are 660 MW units. Further the company plans to commission next three units of 660 MW at Mundra within this financial year in order to achieve the 4620 MW capacity. The company synchronised the first 660 MW in record time of 36 months and yet again achieved the second benchmark by synchronising the second 660 MW units within 90 days.

Further, the company has already achieved financial closure for this entire 4620 MW project at Mundra and is well on track to timely commissioning by the end of the financial year. Meanwhile, the company is currently implementing 16500 MW of power generation projects across the six locations in India.
