TVS Motor gains on launching TVS Jupiter

TVS Motor Company is currently trading at Rs 34.40, up by 0.65 points or 1.93% from its previous closing of Rs 33.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 35.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 35.00 and Rs 34.00 respectively. So far 109231 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 50.25 on 11-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs 28.10 on 31-Jul-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 34.25 and Rs 30.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 1631.92 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.40% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.71% and 21.90% respectively.

TVS Motor has forayed into men’s scooter segment by launching new scooter -- TVS Jupiter. The new product is targeting mainly self-employed, businessmen and traders. The scooter industry is doing well in the current market condition and 29% of the scooters drivers are female, while 35% are dual drivers and 36% are male drivers. The company has Scooty Pep Plus for the female drivers, Wego for dual and it was lacking a product for men.
