Goldman Sachs Singapore acquires 20.26 lakh shares of Yes bank for Rs 77 crore

Goldman Sachs Singapore has acquired 20.26 lakh shares of private sector lender Yes Bank for about Rs 77 crore. The shares were purchased for an average price of Rs 379.7 apiece through an open market transaction.

Earlier in August, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) increased its stake in Yes Bank to 7.38%. As on June 30, 2013, the insurance behemoth held 4.68% stake in the bank.

As on June 30, 2013, the promoters holding in the company stood at 25.64% while institutions and non-institutions held 61.71% and 12.64% respectively.

The bank reported a rise of 38.15% in its net profit at Rs 400.84 crore for the first quarter, as compared to Rs 290.14 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income from operation of the bank increased by 30.61% to Rs 2839.97 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 2174.44 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.
