M&M rises despite reporting 10.45% fall in September auto sales

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is currently trading at Rs. 834.40, up by 6.60 points or 0.80% from its previous closing of Rs. 827.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 833.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 845.50 and Rs. 822.25 respectively. So far 65365 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1026.45 on 20-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 741.50 on 28-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 883.00 and Rs. 815.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 51796.55 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 25.35% while institutions and non-institutions held 51.19% and 18.23% respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), India’s leading SUV manufacturer, has reported 10.45% fall in its auto sales numbers for September 2013, which stood at 43,289 units as against 48,342 units during September 2012.

The Passenger Vehicles segment, which includes the UVs and Verito sold 18,916 units in September 2013, down by 20.55% as against 23,808 units during September 2012. The company’s domestic sales stood at 40,574 units during September 2013, as against 45,263 units during September 2012, down by 10.36%.

Besides, the 4 wheeler commercial segment which includes passenger and load vehicles sold 14,709 units as compared to 14,417 units sold in same month previous year, while the 3 wheeler segment clocked 6,403 units in September 2013 as against 6,048 unit in September 2012. Exports for the month of September 2013 stood at 2715 units as against 3,079 unit sold in September 2012.
