Sharda Motor Industries (SMIL) has entered into a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with Toyota Boshoku Asia Company (TBAS) on September 27, 2013. SMIL and TBAS intend to enter this joint venture initially to approach the Automobile original equipment manufacturers (OEMS) including their affiliates and procure the business of manufacturing from them, and thereafter supplying manufactured products in India.
Both the parties also intend that initially the design and development function of the joint venture would be satellite support services to be provided to the Automobile OEMS / customers. For this purpose both parties have agreed to incorporate a 50:50% the Joint Venture Company in India.
TBAS, incorporated under law of Thailand, has been engaged in the manufacture of interior parts and other parts for motor vehicles and, through research, development, and experience for many years, owns and possesses requisite skill, expertise and knowledge including confidential design, data, know-how and process technologies for designing, development, manufacture and sale of the products.
