Tata Power shines on starting construction work for first phase of hydro power project in Georgia

Tata Power is currently trading at Rs. 81.90, up by 0.95 points or 1.17% from its previous closing of Rs. 80.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 80.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 82.00 and Rs. 79.45 respectively. So far 270434 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 113.20 on 05-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 68.25 on 06-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 81.75 and Rs. 77.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 19,435 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 32.47% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.22% and 16.08% respectively. Tata Power has started construction work for the first phase of its 400 MW hydro power project in Georgia. The company will develop the said hydro power project in association with Clean Energy Invest AS, Norway (Clean Energy) and IFC InfraVentures (IFC).

Tata Power, India’s largest private power producer, has hydel generation capacity of 450 MW in Maharashtra. The company has an installed capacity of over 8,500 MW.

Tata Power, as part of sustainability initiatives, aims to have 20-25% of its total electricity generation capacity from clean energy sources.
