Tata Power Company, India’s largest integrated power company along with Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) has launched the ‘Swachch Jal’ programme in Bhivpuri, Maharashtra. The company has taken this step in order to solve the problem of unavailability of clean and pure water for school children.
80 ‘Swachch Jal Units’ were distributed and more than 2,700 school children across 43 schools will benefit from this initiative. The schools were also provided with a kit and an additional candle bulb which will help them maintain the units for the next few years. A live demonstration and presentation of the Swachch Jal Units was undertaken where dignitaries including Tata Power Head Community Relations Mumbai Operations, gram sabha members, village sarpanches, principals, and teachers graced the event.
Tata Power has reinforced its commitment to healthcare around its area of operation through the unique ‘Swachch Jal’ initiative. The objective of this initiative is to mitigate the water related issues among the community in the surrounding areas.
