Bosch has proposed to suspend the manufacturing operations at the company’s Jaipur plant and Bangalore plant. The company has taken this step with a view to adjust production to meet the demand for products and to avoid unnecessary build-up of inventory.
The company will suspend operations at Jaipur plant on 12th and 19th of October 2013 and 28th October to 2nd November 2013, while operations at Bangalore plant will be suspended on 15th and 31st of October 2013.
Bosch is a major player in the diesel segment and 60% of its sales come from diesel segment. It is also among the larger suppliers of common rail direct injection (CRDI) systems in India. The company buys half of the components required for the CRDI systems (by value) locally.
