Akzo Nobel India’s former promoter -- Imperial Chemical Industries has divested 9% stake in the company for a consideration of around Rs 1,296 crore through an open market transaction. The Imperial Chemical Industries has offloaded 40,97,025 shares representing 9% of total shareholding of the company at an average price of Rs 3,163.50 apiece.
Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs Funds - Goldman Sachs India Equity Portfolio, an affiliate of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, has bought 3,35,465 shares representing 0.74% of total shareholding of the company at an average price of Rs 3,150 apiece. Post the acquisition, Goldman Sachs Asset Management's holding in the company rose to 1.79% from 1.05%.
Akzo Nobel India is engaged in the business of manufacturing, trading and selling of paints and related products. The Company also provides research and development services to the holding company and its group companies.
