NTPC Green Energy has secured approval to enter a Joint Venture Agreement to incorporate a 50:50 Joint Venture Company (JVC) with GAIL (India) for undertaking Renewable Energy Projects, subject to approval of Ministry of Power, DIPAM and/ or other statutory authorities as applicable. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on January 15, 2026 has approved the same.
NTPC Green Energy is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, a ‘Maharatna’ central public sector enterprise. The company is mainly engaged in the activity of developing, building, owning, operating and maintaining utility scale grid connected solar and wind power projects (through O&M operations and in-house engineering).
