Hero MotoCorp registers 18% rise in October sales

Hero MotoCorp, country’s largest two-wheeler maker, has registered 18.17% rise in its total sales at 6,25,420 units for October 2013 as compared to 5,29,215 units sold in the same month previous year.

This is the first time that any two-wheeler manufacturer has exceeded the landmark six lakh unit sales in a month. The company’s previous highest sales for any month was recorded in May this year when it sold 5,57,890 units.

Hero MotoCorp is the World’s single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
