Berger Paints surges on reporting 17% rise in Q2 consolidated net profit

Berger Paints is currently trading at Rs. 233.00, up by 2.60 points or 1.13% from its previous closing of Rs. 230.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 233.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 239.80 and Rs. 232.45 respectively. So far 1, 45,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 256.30 on 19-Jul-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 137.05 on 19-Nov-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 234.50 and Rs. 218.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 8,058 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.96% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 14.35% and 10.69% respectively.

The company has reported 21.32% rise in its net profit after tax at Rs 55.53 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 45.77 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased by 16.28% at Rs 837.87 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 720.54 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.

On the consolidated basis, the group has registered a growth of 17.29% in net profit at Rs 62.67 crore as compared to Rs 53.43 crore in the same quarter previous year. Total income of the group rose 19.42% to Rs 974.5 crore for quarter under review as against Rs 816.04 crore in corresponding quarter previous year.
