NTPC Green Energy’s wholly owned subsidiary -- NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) is planning to develop 250 MW Solar Power Project integrated with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on vacant defence land at Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. The project has been approved by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and is the first of its kind large-scale solar power project with BESS to strengthen energy security of defence establishments.
The power generated from the project shall be utilised by various defence establishments across Uttar Pradesh.
NTPC Green Energy is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, a ‘Maharatna’ central public sector enterprise. The company is mainly engaged in the activity of developing, building, owning, operating and maintaining utility scale grid connected solar and wind power projects (through O&M operations and in-house engineering).
