09 Jul 2026 Evaluate

Tata Steel's India crude steel production has increased 11.28% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) to 5.82 million tonnes in the first quarter of FY2026-27 (Q1FY27), compared with 5.23 million tonnes in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, while deliveries also grew 8.84% Y-o-Y to 5.17 million tonnes in Q1FY27 from 4.75 million tonnes in Q1FY26. Production and deliveries were supported by higher output at Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar facilities.

However, Tata Steel Netherlands reported an 8.82% Y-o-Y decline in liquid steel production to 1.55 million tonnes in Q1FY27, compared with 1.70 million tonnes in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, while deliveries fell 6.66% to 1.40 million tonnes in Q1FY27 from 1.50 million tonnes in Q1FY26. Production and deliveries were impacted in part due to the shutdown of the Direct Sheet Plant in April 2026.

Tata Steel Thailand's saleable steel production remained stable in Q1FY27 at 0.33 million tonnes as compared to Q1FY26, while its deliveries stood at 0.33 million tonnes in Q1FY27, compared with 0.34 million tonnes in Q1FY26. Tata Steel UK's deliveries declined 20% Y-o-Y to 0.48 million tonnes in Q1FY27 from 0.60 million tonnes in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Tata Steel, the flagship company of the Tata group, is the first integrated steel plant in Asia and is now the world’s second most geographically diversified steel producer and a Fortune 500 company.
