Tata Power Company shines on reporting consolidated net profit of Rs 74.97 crore in Q2

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 78.85, up by 1.00 points or 1.28% from its previous closing of Rs. 77.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 79.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 80.20 and Rs. 77.50 respectively. So far 8,41,0000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 113.20 on 05-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 68.25 on 06-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 85.00 and Rs. 77.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 18,711 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 32.47% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.38% and 15.97% respectively.

The company has reported 11.54% fall in its net profit at Rs 261.77 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 295.98 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has decreased by 17.31% at Rs 2245.83 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2716.06 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.

On the consolidated basis, The Group has reported a net profit after taxes, minority interest and Shares of Profit of Associates of Rs 74.97 crore for the quarter as compared to a net loss of Rs 83.80 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The total income of the group has increased by 9.06% at Rs 8471.78 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 7768.22 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.
