Cameron open to meet all elected leaders, including Modi

British Prime Minister David Cameron said he was open to meeting all elected leaders, including Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who is the BJP's prime ministerial nominee for the 2014 polls. Being on a day long visit to India where the British PM was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the morning and then fly to Kolkata where he would meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the evening, was not scheduled to meet Modi this time around due to shortage of time.

British Prime Minister David Cameron said that his first priority was to see Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and then he wanted to see Kolkata, so meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and added that they had already started relations with Gujarat and that the connection and engagement was there. Cameron said "the people of India will decide their prime minister in 2014 and in the end it will be for the people of India to decide who they elect."
