Tata Power Company has secured approval for the core project of steelmaking capacity expansion by 4.8 MTPA in its wholly owned subsidiary -- Neelachal Ispat Nigam (NINL) at an estimated capex of Rs 33,873 crore. The Board of Directors of the company at its meeting held July 30, 2026 has approved the same.
This will enable the company to further expand the long products portfolio especially in the retail space where its branded products are in high demand. NINL is currently going through the process of amalgamation into and with the company.
