Aether Industries, Dow India collaborate on Research Program to develop manufacturing technologies for silicones

Aether Industries and Dow Chemical International (Dow India) have launched a collaborative research program to develop new manufacturing technologies for silicones. Silicones are a strategically important class of high-performance materials with applications across construction, mobility and transportation, electronics, healthcare, and personal care. This program will facilitate in creating a substantial opportunity for indigenous technology development and manufacturing.

The program will be jointly executed by the two companies, with all research and pilot-scale development being carried out at Aether’s R&D and pilot facilities in Surat, Gujarat. This collaboration represents one of India’s dedicated collaborative research programs focused on developing new manufacturing technologies for silicones, marking an important milestone in advancing domestic innovation. The agreement also establishes a framework for a long-term strategic partnership, including the potential commercialization and industrial-scale manufacture of technologies developed through the program.

Aether Industries, based out of Surat (Gujarat), focuses on producing advanced intermediates and speciality chemicals involving complex and differentiated chemistry and technology core competencies.
