Tolins Tyres’ arm begins construction of new Reclaim Rubber facility in Kerala

24 Aug 2026 Evaluate

Tolins Tyres’ 100% wholly owned subsidiary -- Terra Rubber has commenced construction of a new Reclaim Rubber manufacturing facility in Palakkad, Kerala. The commencement of   construction plays a key role in the Tolins Group’s strategy to strengthen its presence across the rubber value chain while advancing backward integration, raw-material efficiency and circular manufacturing.

The facility will utilise scrap tyres and other rubber waste, including rubber compound waste, as key raw materials. Through a controlled devulcanisation process, the facility will recover usable rubber and convert it into Reclaimed Rubber, which can be incorporated into suitable rubber compounds as a substitute for a portion of virgin rubber, depending on product specifications and performance requirements. The Terra Rubber facility will enable the Tolins Group to participate further upstream in the rubber value chain by converting end-of-life tyres and rubber waste into a value-added raw material.

The facility also provides Terra Rubber with an opportunity to participate in India’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework for waste tyres. Under the CPCB’s waste tyre EPR framework, registered recyclers can generate EPR certificates against eligible quantities of waste tyres recycled and corresponding eligible recycled products, including Reclaimed Rubber. These certificates can subsequently be transferred to registered tyre producers to help fulfil their EPR obligations. Accordingly, subject to applicable CPCB registration, certification and regulatory requirements, Terra Rubber will have the potential to generate and transfer EPR certificates to tyre producers, creating an additional revenue opportunity alongside the sale of Reclaimed Rubber.

Tolins Tyres is primarily engaged in manufacturing of bias tyres for vehicles (including LCV, agricultural and two/three-wheeler vehicles) and procured tread rubber. It also manufactures ancillary products like bonding gum, vulcanizing solution, tyre flaps and tubes.
