Wyeth trades jubilantly on getting nod for scheme of amalgamation

Wyeth is currently trading at Rs. 893.00, up by 78.85 points or 9.68% from its previous closing of Rs. 814.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 976.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 976.95 and Rs. 875.00 respectively. So far 181348 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 989.00 on 30-Nov-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 553.05 on 06-Sep-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 976.95 and Rs. 613.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2006.18 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.12% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.82% and 30.06% respectively. Wyeth’s board of directors at its meeting held on November 23, 2013 has approved the Scheme of Amalgamation of Wyeth with Pfizer under the provisions of Sections 391 to 394 and other applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 1956.

Wyeth is the Indian subsidiary of US-based Pharma Company Wyeth, a global leader in pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare and animal health products. It was established in 1947 as a company under the name Lederle Laboratories (India). In 1962, the name was changed to Cyanamid India.
