Maruti Suzuki India reports 21% growth in total sales in August

Maruti Suzuki India has reported a 21.33% growth in total sales (Domestic + Export) to 2,19,220 units in August 2026 as compared to sales of 1,80,683 units in August 2025. Total domestic vehicle sales, including light commercial vehicles (LCV), surged by 28.60% to 1,85,376 units in August 2026 as compared to 1,44,145 units in the same month last year.

Within this, sales of mini-segment cars (Alto and S-Presso) increased by 28.40% to 8,799 units in August 2026, compared with 6,853 units in the corresponding month of the previous year. Sales of the company's compact and mid-size cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR, grew 29.48% to 77,166 units in August 2026 from 59,597 units in August 2025.

Further, sales of utility vehicles, including the Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6, increased 46.26% to 79,045 units in August 2026 from 54,043 units a year ago. Eeco van sales stood at 11,961 units in August 2026, compared with 10,785 units in August 2025, reflecting a growth of 10.90%. In addition, sales of the LCV Super Carry rose 12.09% to 3,107 units in August 2026 from 2,772 units in the same month last year.

Moreover, the company's exports in August 2026 stood at 33,844 units, compared with 36,538 units in August 2025, registering a decline of 7.37%. The sales to other OEMs also decreased 47.52% to 5,298 units in August 2026 as compared to 10,095 units in August 2025.
