NTPC and EDF Power Solutions India have partnered to jointly develop, own and operate pumped storage projects, hydropower projects, as well as other renewable energy (RE) projects and distribution business. In this regard, both companies have entered into a joint venture (JV) agreement to form a 50:50 JV for undertaking projects within India and neighbouring countries.
Both companies will leverage their respective expertise to provide tailor-made offers, drive the decarbonisation and global performance of electrical systems, aligned with India's ambitious goals of 100 GW installed capacity of pumped storage projects by 2036.
NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
