Tata Power’s arm's project at Mundra suffers from fire break out

Fire broke out at the 4,000 MW Ultra Mega Power Project at Mundra, which is owned by an unlisted subsidiary of the Tata Power Company viz. Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL). The coal handling plant at CGPL, Mundra had an occurrence of fire in the coal conveyor gallery on November 14, 2013. Coal feeding to the plant was impacted due to fire and the repair works that followed. Restoration of the impact of fire on conveyor was achieved on November 20, 2013. The Company has processed the insurance claim as per coverage.
