Power Grid Corporation surges on commissioning Raichur-Sholapur transmission line

Power Grid Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 101.30, up by 2.00 points or 2.01% from its previous closing of Rs. 99.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 100.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 101.90 and Rs. 99.90 respectively. So far 1316292 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 116.95 on 09-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 86.70 on 02-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 101.90 and Rs. 97.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 53126.79 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.90% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.24% and 13.86% respectively.

Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) has commissioned Raichur-Sholapur transmission line which has been interconnected with the national grid. The Raichur-Sholapur 765KV single circuit transmission line has thereby achieved the one nation-one grid-one frequency system. It cost the company Rs 815 crore to set up the system.

Power Grid Corporation of India, the Central Transmission Utility (CTU), is engaged in power transmission business with the mandate for planning, co-ordination, supervision and control over Inter-State transmission systems and operation of the National and Regional Power Grids. It is also in the telecom business and offers consultancy services.
