Private carrier Jet Airways is all set to launch a daily flight service from Abu Dhabi to Chennai from January 16, 2014. The new service will now connect Chennai to several global destinations across Europe and Africa via Abu Dhabi.
At present, the airline operates daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Delhi, Kochi, Mumbai and Kuwait. Following these new enhanced flights, Jet Airways will enjoy the distinction of being first domestic private carrier to operate over 50 daily flights to multiple destinations in the Gulf.
Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 113 aircraft, which include 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 10 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 4 Airbus A330-300 aircraft, 72 next generation Boeing 737-700/800/900/900 ER aircraft and 15 ATR 72-500 and 2 ATR72-600.
