Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has registered a 13% drop in total sales to 2,97,776 units in December 2013 against 3,43,946 units in December 2012. The sales of the motorcycles decreased by 13% and stood at 2,60,645 units in the month under review against 2,98,350 units in December 2012. The company has reported a 19% drop in Commercial Vehicles sales which stood at 37,131 units as compared to 45,596 units in month of December 2012.
Meanwhile, the company’s total exports out of the above stood at 1,50,753 units, an increase of 20% as compared to 1,26,016 units sold in the corresponding month last year.
Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
