Maruti Suzuki India, country’s largest car maker, has reported 6.80% fall in its production to 80,698 units in December 2013 as compared to 86,587 units in same month last year. Of total, the company has manufactured a total of 36,470 vehicles under mini segment (including Aulto, A Star, Wagon R), down by 10.96%, as against 40,957 vehicles manufactured in corresponding month previous year.
Meanwhile, the company has manufactured 16,805 vehicles under compact segment, 15,256 vehicles under super compact, mid-sixed and executive class segment, 5,781 units under utility vehicles segment and 1,453 units under vans category.
Recently, the company registered a fall of 4.40% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of December at 90,924 units, as against 95,145 units in December 2012. The company’s domestic sales surged by 5.90% in December 2013 to 86,613 units, as against 82,073 units in corresponding month last year.
