Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have increased their stake in Ceat to 8% in October-December from mere 0.03% in Q2 FY14. The number for FIIs holding stake in the company has increased to 37 from 13 earlier. Morgan Stanley Asia (Singapore) has bought 2.12% stake in Q3 against nil holding at the end of Q2.
Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors (DII) however, booked the profit in stock by offloading 3.4% of their holdings during the quarter. Total DIIs stake in the company declined to 6.73% from 10.13%.
CEAT is among the best tyre manufacturers in India. Besides tyres, the company also manufactures and markets tubes and flaps. It manufactures a wide range of tyres for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, tractors and tippers and trucks.
