ICICI Bank and Vodafone launches 'M-Pesa' service in Haryana

ICICI Bank, India's largest private sector bank and Vodafone India, one of India's leading telecommunications service providers, together have launched 'M-Pesa', a unique mobile money transfer and payment service in Haryana. It offers a simple and secure way to transfer money and make payments with the security of financial transactions provided by ICICI Bank.

'M-Pesa' allows the unbanked and under-banked sections of the population gain access to financial services via the mobile phone. This service will now be available across 62 Tehsils, 21 Districts through 1073 specially trained authorized agents and across 110 Vodafone exclusive retail mini stores in Haryana.

ICICI Bank is India's largest private sector bank and the second largest bank in the country, with consolidated total assets of $122 billion at December 31, 2012. The Bank’s presence currently spans 19 countries, including India.
