GVK has appointed Darren Yeates as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Australian operations in the final development stages of its Galilee Basin mining projects. Yeates comes to the appointment from his previous roles as Chief Operating Officer and Acting CEO for Rio Tinto Coal Australia, and brings over 30 years’ experience in coal mining operations, mine infrastructure and resource sector industries.
Yeates has played a critical role in managing ports and infrastructure in the Pilbara, and brings a wealth of leadership and operational experience from leading Australian mining operations, which will ensure a seamless transition into our Galilee Basin coal and infrastructure projects.
GVK Power & Infrastructure is engaged in infrastructure development in areas of power, airports and roads. Incorporated in 1994, the company till date has invested over Rs 5,000 crore in infrastructure projects.
