Orient Green Power Company’s operating capacity surpasses 500 MW

Orient Green Power Company (OGPL), a leading pure play renewable energy generator in the country with a presence in Wind and Biomass energy’s operating capacities has exceeded 500 MW. As of date, the company’s operating capacity stands at 502 MW comprising 416 MW of Wind assets and 86 MW of Biomass assets.

The company has recently commissioned 3 Biomass units in Narsinghpur (MP) – a unit of the company and Kishanganj, (Rajasthan) and Marikal (AP) units through its subsidiaries, the on ground operational capacity of the company now exceeds 500 MW, further cementing its position as one of the leading player in the renewable energy space.

OGPL, part of the Shriram Group, has its wind assets strategically located at some of the best sites across various states namely, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Karnataka. To further consolidate its presence, OGPL is on track to commission a further 40 MW of capacity across both verticals. It is also keenly evaluating major opportunities arising in the space especially wind business, which could further propel its growth of the business.
