Century Enka to continue shut-down of CPU-Polyester and Continuous Polyester Spinning Lines

30 Jan 2014 Evaluate

Century Enka has decided to carry out some more modification work on Polyester Spinning Lines pursuant to which the shut down of Continuous Polymerisation Unit - Polyester (CPU-Polyester) and Continuous Polyester Spinning Lines will continue for some more time of about 3-4 months. The stoppage of CPU and Continuous Polyester Spinning Lines does not have any adverse impact on overall profitability of the company due to severely squeezed margins in polyester yarns.

The CPU-Polyester unit situated at Bharuch site was stopped on November 12, 2013 for preventive maintenance after a gap of four years. Consequently, Continuous Polyester Spinning Lines were also stopped. During the course of preventive maintenance, the company has also taken up modification of Polyester Spinning Lines to improve flexibility in manufacturing process. The company has now decided to carry out some more modification work on Polyester Spinning Lines.

Century Enka manufactures nylon and other man-made fibres and fabrics. The company produces jumbo beams, specialty yarns, industrial/fiber grade chips, industrial yarns and tyre-cord fabrics.
