LPGCL ceases to be subsidiary company of Bajaj Hindusthan

Bajaj Hindusthan’s Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) - Lalitpur Power Generation Company (LPGCL), for 1980 MW coal fired thermal power project, has ceased to be a subsidiary of the company with effect from January 29, 2014.

It has ceased to be subsidiary consequent to allotment of further equity shares by LPGCL on January 29, 2014, resulting in reduction of the company’s shareholding to 40.13% from the earlier shareholding of 51.73%.

Bajaj Hindusthan, a part of the 'Bajaj Group’, is one the largest sugar manufacturing companies in Asia and also the largest industrial alcohol manufacturers in India. It is engaged in sugar manufacturing, distillery operations and bagasse-based power generation. It has 16 sugar mills with a cane crushing capacity of 1.36 lakh tonne per day.
