Godrej Industries gains despite reporting weak numbers

Godrej Industries is currently trading at Rs. 273.85, up by 4.55 points or 1.69 % from its previous closing of Rs. 269.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 270.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 274.50 and Rs. 267.35 respectively. So far 25957 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 324.50 on 05-Jul-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 218.50 on 28-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 283.95 and Rs. 260.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9184.77 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.89 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 14.15 % and 10.96 % respectively.

Godrej Industries has reported a net loss of Rs 8.54 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2013 as compared to net profit of Rs 131.37 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company  increased by 6.48% at Rs 368.55 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 346.11 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2012

On the consolidated basis, the group has reported 63.64% fall in its net profit at Rs 65.23 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2013 as compared to Rs 179.44 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the group increased by 18% at Rs 2033.17 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1722.98 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2012.
