Workers of Gupta Synthetics' Silvassa factory were on strike from December 02, 2011 and due to the strike all operations of factory was completely closed for a period of five days.

Gupta Synthetics is one of the biggest manufacturers of polyester yarns in India, having a group turnover of $150 million, also a strong brand image. It mainly deal in textile products, like polyester chips, POY, FDY and texturized yarns, Draw twisted yarns, and specialized yarns.
