Tata Power generates 3,212MU in Q3 FY13-14

Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated power companies, has achieved generation of 3,212MU of power in Q3 FY13-14 and 10,513MU in YTD FY14. The company, together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, has an installed gross generation capacity of 8,560MW including thermal (coal, gas and oil), hydroelectric power, renewable energy (wind and solar PV) and waste heat recovery sources, reinforcing its position as one of the largest integrated power companies in India.

The company continued its robust operations with sales volume for the quarter ended December 31, 2013, at 3,547MU. Tata Power’s subsidiaries CGPL and MPL have contributed significantly after achieving full operations. Haldia plant reported generation of 246MU in the quarter ended December 31, 2013, as compared to 239MU in the corresponding quarter last year.

Besides, Hydro power plants have generated 387MU as against 341MU in the previous year, recording an incremental generation of 14% in FY14. The company is one of the leading generators of wind and solar energy in the country and shall endeavour to get 20-25 percent of its portfolio from clean energy sources. With its relentless pursuit, Tata Power has installed generation capacity of 1,102MW through clean and green energy sources.
