Tata Power’s JV receives certification from Indian Register Quality Systems

Maithon Power (MPL), the 74:26 Joint Venture (JV) between Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has received certification from Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS) for successful implementation of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. MPL has implemented 2 x 525 MW coal-fired power project power in Jharkhand. MPL is the first successful public-private partnership in green field generation project in the country.

Moreover, MPL has successfully completed three internal system audits and two external audits conducted by IRQS, including certification audit which concluded in December 2013. The Integrated Management System (IMS) policy was signed on March 4, 2013. In less than one year, the MPL team successfully integrated Quality Management System, Environment Management System, Occupation Health and Safety Management System and completed the certification audit.

The Company has an installed generation capacity of 8521 MW in India and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. Generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), Transmission, Distribution and Trading.
