Fire broke out at Shalimar Paints’ Howrah plant on March 12, 2014. The Company's staff immediately took steps to control it and also the local fire service department was informed accordingly. With the collective efforts of the Fire Brigade and the Company's staff, the fire has been brought under control and there are no major injuries or any causality reported.
There has been damage to the plant, machinery and the inventory however the same are adequately covered under insurance. The reasons of the fire are being determined.
