Manipal-based public sector lender, Syndicate Bank has opened 24 new branches in Andhra Pradesh. These branches are spread across the districts of Anantapur (3), Chittoor (4), East Godavari (2), Guntur & Kurnool (1), Prakasam, Rangareddy, Hyderabad (3), Secunderabad & Visakhapatnam (2).
With the opening of these 24 new branches the total number of branches in AP has risen to 490 and pan India to 3176. The Bank has also planned to add 10 more branches before end of this month there by taking total number of branches in the State to 500.
Syndicate Bank (SB) is a Manipal-based public sector bank which was established in 1925. As on March 31, 2013, GOI holds a majority stake of 66.17% in the bank.
