Tata Power has successfully installed special Solar Powered street lights in the nearby villages of Nanikhakar, Modhva, Tragadi and Gundiyali at Mandvi Taluka in state of Gujarat under Project ‘Surya Prakash’. The company through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL) is committed towards inclusive growth and development of all the communities in and around its areas of operation.
Common area lighting was one of the needs identified during the company’s meetings with the community, Sarpanches and village opinion leaders. After consultation, 40 solar street lights in partnership with Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) were installed in the villages. The solar street lights are designed by Tata Power Solar Systems and are cost-effective as they require lesser maintenance compared to conventional street lights.
