MOIL receives prospecting licence over an area of 597.44 hectares in Maharashtra

MOIL, the country's largest manganese ore producer, shall commence prospecting operation in over an area of 597.44 hectares in Nagpur and Bhandara districts of Maharashtra, as per terms and conditions of the deeds. The company has taken this step pursuant to Prospecting Licence (PL) deeds for these areas have now been executed and registered. The company had earlier on July 10, 2013 informed about grant of PL by Government of Maharashtra.

MOIL is the largest iron ore company in India and fifth largest in world. It currently operates seven underground mines (Kandri, Munsar, Beldongri, Gumgaon, Chikla, Balaghat and Ukwa mines) and three opencast mines (Dongri Buzurg, Sitapatore/Sukli, and Tirodi). The company is actively involved in exploration and development activities with a view to increase its proven manganese ore reserves.
