About Shree Ganesh Jewellery House (I) Ltd

The company was originally incorporated in Kolkata as Shree Ganesh Jewellery House Private Limited on August 30, 2002. The status of the Company was changed to a public limited company and the name was changed to 'Shree Ganesh Jewellery House Limited' pursuant to a fresh certificate of incorporation issued by the RoC, West Bengal on August 14, 2007.

It is one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of handcrafted gold jewellery in India. Its  products include handcrafted and hallmarked gold jewellery, gold enameled jewellery and gold jewellery studded with precious stones such as diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, pearls, etc. and semi-precious stones such as garnet, cubic zirconium, etc.

Company’s promoters’ family has been in the business of whole-selling and marketing of jewellery since the 1950s. The Promoters joined the family business in 1992 and incorporated a partnership firm “Shree Ganesh Jewellers” which was engaged in the business of marketing and export of gold jewellery. In April 2003 the Company purchased the existing business of Shree Ganesh Jewellers. It expanded its business by setting up two more units at Manikancan SEZ over the next four years. It predominantly exports its manufactured products which constitute more than 95% of the Company’s total revenues with the balance revenue attributable towards job-working and domestic retailing.

The company’s products are primarily exported to countries such as the U.A.E, Singapore and Hong Kong and it has recorded a consistent and steady growth in its exports.

It has three manufacturing units, located in Manikanchan SEZ at West Bengal, which is presently the only jewellery SEZ in West Bengal. The company set up its first unit at Manikanchan SEZ in 2004 with a capacity of 500 kgs of gold jewellery per year. It has set up two additional units at Manikanchan SEZ.

Product range of the company:

The portfolio of products includes rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces, bangles and medallions. Its products have presence across different price points to cater to all customers across high-end, mid-market and value market segments which are designed by a team of creative designers which allows it to manage a large and diverse portfolio of designs.

Milestones:

  • March 2003- Takeover of the business of Shree Ganesh Jewellers, a proprietary firm
  • November 2003  - Received approval from the Development Commissioner, Manikanchan SEZ for setting up of its manufacturing unit at Manikanchan, SEZ.
  • June 2004 - Set up first factory for the manufacture of jewellery at Manikanchan SEZ with a capacity of 500 kgs of gold per year.
  • 2006 - The Promoters, Mr. Nilesh Parekh and Mr. Umesh Parekh awarded the “Young Achievers Award” by Sin Gems
  • April 2006 - Merger of Doyen Traders and Properties Private Limited, Shree Gajanand Jewellers Private Limited, Pitty Fincon Service Private Limited, Pancharatna Jewellers Private Limited, Janki Properties Private Limited and Creative Jewels (India) Private Limited with the Company
  • September 2007 Awarded SE1A rating by CRISIL indicating “Highest performance capacity and highest financial strength”
  • October 2007 - Opened first branded retail jewellery store at Kolkata and Ahmedabad
  • October, 2007- Incorporated Shree Ganesh Jewellery House (Singapore) Pte. Limited as a wholly owned subsidiary.
  • 2008 - In the course of the financial year 2007 – 2008, its manufacturing units exceeded a capacity of 10,000 kgs of gold
  • March 2008 - Received the “Three Star Export House” certificate from Joint Director of Foreign Trade, Government of India.
  • September 2008 - Received the “Outstanding Export Performance and Contribution in the Trade for Plain Precious Metal Jewellery Exports by Unit from EoU/EPZ” from the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council in 2007 – 2008.
  • March 2008 - Private equity investment of Rs. 8000 lakh by Credit Suisse PE Asia Investments (Mauritius) Limited
  • March 2008 - Crossed total sales of Rs. 1,27,380.66 lakh
  • March 2009 - Crossed total sales of Rs 2,14,850.12 lakh
  • June 2009 - Received the “Four Star Export House” certificate from Joint Director of Foreign Trade, Government of India.
  • August 2009- Received the status of a “Nominated Agency” under the Foreign Trade Policy for the purposes of Direct Import of Precious Metals. This allows the company to directly import precious metals.
  • August 2009- Received the “Outstanding Export Performance and Contribution in the Trade for Plan Precious Metal Jewellery Exports by Unit from EoU/EPZ” from the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council in 2008 - 2009.

Awards/ Achievements:

  • The company was assigned “SE1A” rating by CRISIL for SMEs in November 2008 which indicates “Highest performance capacity and highest financial strength”.
  • 2010 - Awarded by Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council - India for Outstanding Export Performance and contribution in the trade for the following category, during the year 2009-10.
  • - EPCES Export Awards for Best SEZ-SSI for the year 2007-08 being handed over by Mr. Anand Sharma, Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industries at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi on 24th Feb 2010
  • 2011 - Highest Exporter-Gems and Jewellery from India by DHL-CNBC International Trade Awards 2010-11 held at Mumbai on 29/09/2011.
  • -Shree Ganesh Jewellery House Ltd. was awarded by GJEPC for outstanding export performance in the following category:- ‘Plain Precious Metal Jewellery Exports from Units by EOU/EPZ 2010-11.’
  • 2012 -Chairman Mr.Nilesh Parekh receiving the ECGC-D&B Indian Exporters Excellance Awards 2012 for the Largest Manufacturer-Exporter from India. Shri Anand Sharma, Hon'ble Minister of Commerce, Industry and Textiles, Government of India was the chief guest for the event.The event was held in Hotel ITC Grand Central, Mumbai.
  • -Shree Ganesh Jewellery House Ltd. was awarded by GJEPC for outstanding export performance in the following category:- ‘Plain Precious Metal Jewellery Exports from Units by EOU/EPZ 2011-12 & Studded Precious Metal Jewellery Exports from Units by EOU/EPZ 2011-12’.
  • -Company has changed its name from Shree Ganesh Jewellery House Ltd. to Shree Ganesh Jewellery House (I) Ltd.
  • 2013 - Shree Ganesh’s wholly owned group company-Easyfit Jewellery Pvt.Ltd, has been awarded the India SME 100 Awards presented by THE BANK OF INDIA & supported by the Union Ministry of the Small and Medium Enterprises, on the evening on the 18th of April, 2013.
