Paramount Cosmetics (India) was incorporated as a private company in the name of Tips and Toes Cosmetics (Gujarat) Private Limited. By a special resolution passed by the members at the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting held on March 10, 1986, the company was converted into a public limited company and its name was changed to Tips and Toes Cosmetics (India). The company obtained the fresh certificates of incorporation on conversion into a public company on 18th April, 1986 and for change of its name to the present name on April 21, 1986. The main object of the company is to carry on the business of manufacturing/distributing cosmetics and toileteries and other related products. The company has been promoted by B D Topiwala, who heads the Shingar group of concerns.
With facilities at Vapi and the Union Territory of Daman, the company manufactures and markets indigenous and western cosmetics under the brand names Tips & Toes, Shilpa, and Shingar. The western range of cosmetics include Tips & Toes nail luster, lip luster, cream, blush-on, compact powder, talcum powder, eye definer, sindoor, among and other products.
Kumkum, kajal, and sticker kumkum are marketed in the domestic market under the brand name Shingar. Products marketed under the brand names Shilpa Sticker Kumkum and Shilpa Liquid Kumkum are manufactured by the company while other products marketed by it are bought as finished products.
Premier Cosmetics is a wholly-owned subsidiary. B D Topiwala has, for the past two decades, successfully steered the group to great heights and has established a major market share for various cosmetic products under their brand names such as Shingar and Tips and Toes. In 2003, the company unveiled its new products under the umbrella brand of Tips and Toes in the Kerala market. The products included lipsticks, nail polish, mascara, eyeliners, eye shadow, compacts and blush ons.
