E.Star Infotech was incorporated on December 23, 1999, as a private limited company under the name and style 'Starwar Infotech Private Limited'. The name was changed to the present one on January 19, 2000 and subsequently it was converted into a public limited company on February 8, 2000. The company is based in Navi Mumbai, where it has its software development centre. The company is planning to acquire an area of 6,000 sq.ft. in the vicinity of IT-park in New Mumbai for carrying out software development and training activities.

The company is presently promoted by Mahesh Thanvi, Arvind Thanvi and Bankat Sharma. The company has developed its own software packages like sales Inventory and Marketing for its clients like Mobile Telecommunication Limited, Earnest Centre for Software Development and Training and also has registered websites which are under the process of development. The websites are Ebazaarindia.com, fun-n-funda.com, e-gemsindia.com, geographyindia.com, festivalsindia.com, e-doctoronline.com, e-realestateindia.com, gift2win.com. There are two websites latiyal.com and phalodi.com, which are community sites, catering to one specific Marwari community spread all over the world. One site called shyamkhatu.com is devoted to one of the famous avataars of Lord Krishna. It is representing a devoted religious community on the net.
