About Jhagadia Copper Ltd
Jhagadia Copper Limited is the largest producer of LME Grade ‘A’ Copper Cathodes, using secondary smelting route in India. The company is empowered by technical know how from global leaders.
Jhagadia Copper is set up in technical collaboration with Outokumpu Technology AB (formerly Boliden Contech AB), Sweden. The smelter uses Top Blown Rotary Converter (Kaldo) as its main furnace, which allows flexibility in usage of raw materials. Jhagadia Copper has most elaborate environmental protection measures including zero discharge of effluent, which enables them to treat copper bearing materials covered even under basel convention.
As a star export house, Jhagadia Copper has been supplying Copper Cathodes of LME Grade “A†specification to a number of international / domestic customers.
The refinery of the company is based on ISA-technology from Mount Isa Mines Limited, Australia. Refining is fully automated having equipments for preparation of copper anodes, striping of copper cathodes & auto programmed EOT cranes for handling.
Product range of the company includes:
- Copper Cathodes as per LME Grade ‘A’ Specification.
- Anode Slime - Anode Slime is generated as a by-product in refining process having gold, silver, platinum, palladium and precious / semi-precious metals. The same is sold to precious metal recovery refineries.
- Granulated Slag - Granulated slag generated during the process is used for shot blasting and road fills. This is also used in Cement Plants
- Gypsum - Gypsum is primarily used in Cement plants.
