Janice Textiles was incorporated as a private limited company on January 15, 1993 for setting up a unit to manufacture cotton yarn through the open end spinning process. Subsequently it was converted into a public limited company on April 15,1995. The company set up its present units at MIDC Industrial Estate, Murbad District - Thane. Janice Textiles presently has four open end machines with a capacity to manufacture 1815 tonnes of yarn per annum of 10s Count.  The commercial production of Phase I commenced in November, 1994.

Since commencement of commercial production in November 1994, the company has been concentrating on the supply of coarse cotton yarn to the power loom markets in Ichalkaranji, Bhiwandi, etc. apart from the traditional markets in Mumbai. Since, the coarse cotton is a commodity and not branded products, the cutting edge (in marketing) lies in the knowledge about the demand and prompt supply of the required quality of the yarn. The main promoter, Suryakant Mehta, has been in trading of cotton yarn since 1965, in his firm Ratilal Harilal & Co. Therefore, the company envisages no problem in marketing the product.

There are several open end spinning mills in the country. However, since the company is located near the major markets like Mumbai, Ichalkaranji, Bhiwandi and since, the main promoter is known in the trade for nearly 30 years, the company does not envisage any problem relating to competition. Since commencement of commercial production, the company has been able to sell its products in the power loom market in Ichalkaranji, Bhiwandi apart from the wholesale market in Mumbai. Within this short period the company has also been able to make direct supplies to the following companies:

1.Towels India Export Limited, 2.Sony Yarn Corporation, 3. Good Luck Tarpaulins and 4. Jain and Maru Inc.

Business areas of the company:

Janice Textiles has been engaged in the manufacture of cotton yarn through the open end spinning process..
